Screenshot Swipe operates primarily on your device. Optional AI features may send extracted text to Google's servers.

Overview

Screenshot Swipe is designed with privacy as a priority. We do not collect or store any personal data on our servers. The App does not have its own backend servers.

Photo Library Access

The app requests access to your photo library to:

Display your screenshots for review
Delete screenshots you choose to remove
Keep track of screenshots you've saved

All photo processing happens locally on your device. Your actual images never leave your device.

AI-Powered Features (Optional)

The app includes optional AI features ("Smart Analysis") that use Google's Gemini API to generate summaries and suggest tags.

You can disable AI features at any time in Settings → Smart Analysis.

What data is sent

When you tap "Scan & Analyze" with Smart Analysis enabled:

Text extracted from your screenshot is sent to Google's Gemini API
Only the text content is sent, not the actual image
Your tags list is sent to help with tag suggestions

What data is NOT sent

Your actual screenshot images
Your personal information
Your notes or reminders
Any data from screenshots you don't actively scan

When disabled

When Smart Analysis is disabled:

No data is sent to external servers
Text extraction (OCR) still works entirely on-device
Tag suggestions use local keyword matching only

When using AI features, your data is also subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

On-Device Text Extraction

The app uses Apple's Vision framework to extract text from screenshots. This processing happens entirely on your device and does not require an internet connection.

Notifications

The app may request permission to send local notifications for reminders you set. These notifications are scheduled entirely on your device.

Data Storage

Any data the app stores (such as tags, notes, and saved screenshot references) is kept locally on your device using Apple's standard data storage frameworks.

Children's Privacy
